Castillo de San Marcos
St. Augustine, FL 32084
The Castillo is the oldest masonry fort in the U.S., dating back to 1672, and is considered by many to be the centerpiece of St. Augustine. Many claim the site is a hot spot for eerie occurrences, with visitors who like to come out at night. Orbs have been seen in photographs and a ghostly woman can be seen sometimes wandering around the fort. Some have also claimed to see Spanish soldiers who were so real-looking that they actually tried to spark a conversation with them.

Reviews
I was with some friends walking around the fort at night. I fell behind, just taking in the architecture of the fort. As I looked up, I saw what appeared to be a man in old military clothing with a hat. He was just standing at the top of the fort, looking out toward the front of the fort. I stopped in my tracks. I thought I was crazy. He was slightly transparent, but it was as if I was looking back in time in that moment. It was really surreal. I had been a skeptic for a long time of ghosts, though I believe in other supernatural things. I was not frightened, just a little shocked that I'd actually seen a ghost.

Multiple cold spots throughout picked up on my hand held thermometer in the "storage areas" and possibly captured an apparition in the room known as the English barracks.
