Flagler College Ponce de Leon Hall
St. Augustine, FL 32084
This location was once a hotel that is rumored to be haunted by a number of ghosts, one is believed to be the mistress of Henry Flagler who haunts the 4th floor where she hung herself. The room is boarded up but some students peek in the keyhole still. The story says that when Flagler died, his funeral was held in the front hall of the college. They had all the windows open so the spirit could "fly out" instead of being trapped. While this was going on, the janitor saw that the windows were all open, so he closed them. This caused the spirit to get stuck inside, so they say. His spirit may have tried to fly out, but hit a window and bounced back, landing in one of the tiles. To this very day, if you are on a certain tile to the left of the doors and towards the back of the hall, his face is said to appear.
