Jefferson Correctional Institution

My family and I lived in staff housing for 7 years. My husband and I both were officers. At dusk some evening's you could hear children playing and laughing at the firing range. The entire institution and staff housing were mostly swamp. They brought in fill dirt to build the entire facility. The closest residents are approximately 2 miles away. We were told that there was an indian burial ground in the swamp. One of my children saw a woman in white on a white horse on the hill between our moblie home and the prison that turned into a mist. My husband was working in tower 3 one night and saw the woman in white float thru the fences. Many staff have seen her over the years. My first night working in confinement someone barricaded the bathroom door and was giggling like a little girl. The toilet started flushing by itself. I have had many experiences in my lifetime so I just always say Go into the light and forget it. When training cadets I would tell them to expect the unexpected. When you have 142 inmates in a dorm. Many of them are your worst nightmare. All those different personalities and beliefs. You are bound to experience something.
