Sandlin House
Punta Gorda, FL 33950
This remodeled Victorian-style home is around 120 years old and is said to be haunted by the then-owner, James Sandlin's 14-year-old daughter Mary Leah. She died in 1909 after spilling kerosene on herself while ironing on the front porch. There have been reports of footsteps near her old bedroom and a closet door that refuses to stay closed.

I lead a ghost tour in Punta Gorda and the Sandlin house is one of our favorite stops. One time we actually met the owner, because he was outside, when we were doing the tour. He confirmed several the haunted stories. I have several pictures, I show, when I'm talking about this home during the tour. We are able to take photos of it during the day, but for some reason evening pictures just don't come out. They become blurry distorted and sometimes the camera won't work at all till we walk away. My tour guide partner was able to take pictures of it and they're all distorted the next day she tried to print them on the computer and it would not print any of the Sandlin house pictures, the pictures taken before and the pictures taken after printed just fine but no matter how many times she tried the pictures that were blurry and distorted would not print. The tour starts up in October and goes to April and we are doing a special Tour on September 27th for the National Ghost Hunting Day. I am a psychic and I bring ghost hunting equipment and let the people try to use it and I also show several pictures that I've captured of what could be ghosts. There are 2 tours one is a hunted history tour, and mine is more ghost info than history.

Both my grandfather and my mother grew up in this house and yes, it is haunted. They were the Smoak family.

Is there a way to be able to view this house and do an investigation of our own?

When me and my family went there, there were footprints everywhere, even thought hasn't rained or anything.
