St. Augustine Lighthouse
St. Augustine, FL 32080
"The St. Augustine Lighthouse is a popular haunted location for locals and tourists. True ghost stories have been documented about this location in popular television shows like Ghost Hunters, and various other types of media all throughout history. Many have died in and around the area of the lighthouse, which many believe is why strange phenomena occurs here. On July 10th, 1873, a tragic accident occured while the lighthouse was being constructed. Five kids were riding along a type of cart that assisted in bringing in supplies and they fell in the water when the cart broke. An African-American girl, believed to be a servant, as well as two other girls drowned. Many stories say the girls can be seen swinging on the swing set on the grounds and can be heard laughing and playing. Some even say they look out the windows of the lighthouse as well.
A shadow was documented on the TV Show Ghost Hunters, moving on the top level of the stairs inside the lighthouse and even in front of the window in the lighthouse. It is believed that this is a spirit of a light keeper that tragically fell from the structure. The voice of a woman was also recorded in digital audio recordings that the TAPS Team took. "
