This university was a hotel over a hundred years ago and Theodore Roosevelt even stayed in it once. The second floor is blocked off and is said to be unsafe because of its age. Tour guides have reported apparitions that they have seen from the windows outside.

The above description is incorrect.

None of the floors are blocked off or locked except the "fifth" floor. Almost nothing is "unsafe". The Chiselers have done a wonderful job trying to restore the hotel building back to what it used to be. However, every single building on campus is haunted, either by the hotel guests, former employees or students. Most are residual hauntings. Some are intelligent. Just about every student has at least one story especially the Resident Assistants (RAs). There was an article on Dr. Oppenheimer, the house physician for the Tampa Bay Hotel, where he described a murder-suicide on the second floor. There are also ashes buried on the property by a former university president. Plus, Falk Theatre is across the street and also owned by the university.
