Face the Fear 2025
Gator Guardhouse
Most of the world has heard of the place called "Alligator Alcatraz" deep in the Florida Everglades. But do you know where that concept really came from?
Do you?
Welcome to "Gator Guardhouse," an immersive outdoor fear attraction that transports guests to a long-abandoned prison, where the legends of former inmates and the remnants of their desperate escape still linger on the premises.
Locked away deep in the swamps of Central Florida, the worst of the worst were sent to the Gator Guardhouse. They were locked away, out of sight, out of mind, and if they escaped they had to survive the gator infested swampland surrounding the prison.
No one ever escaped and the phrase "No One Escapes the Croc!" was true - until - the storm of 1987. The only clue as to what really happened at The Gator Guardhouse was an old letter, recently found in a storage area of the Seminole County Historical Museum, written by the legendary warden "Ironside Magee"
His account of what happened during the storm and to the prisoners that night is terrifying. No prisoner ever came out of the swamp, but with a special agreement with the Gee Creek Transparency Association, a limited number of groups are granted permission to explore the once inescapable prison.
The space for these tours are limited - will you dare to see if you can Escape the Croc?
With a PG rating, this spine-tingling adventure invites visitors to uncover the chilling legacy of the Gator Guardhouse while navigating the terrifying remnants of its dark past.
Now you can - for a limited exclusive 3 night terror event in Winter Springs!

Just when I think they have done all they could do, the Face the Fear crew seems to find another notch of terror to take me to! I can’t recommend this event enough. I wish everyone in Central Florida could see it. It was cool.
I went right home and watched the new videos for the year. I heard some real practical stuff about handling fear and facing my fears with faith. My brother was afraid to go, but he did watch the videos and told me when he was done watching he now believed in Jesus. Even cooler. We are watching the rest of the videos on the website together. Face the Fear is still the best. Check it out

I thought the creators of Face the Fear had finally lost their minds and were making some kind of political statement by creating Gator Guardhouse, which obviously is playing off the real Alligator Alcatraz. I know, they tell me that Gator Guardhouse was created first and inspired AA, but I will leave that for you to decide.
They were not making a political statement at all. Instead they were doing what they always do – making a statement that Halloween can be fun and you don’t have to give the devil his due. There were screams, laughs, lots of smiles and wall to wall fun. The guides were great, the cast was amazing (I was told they were all volunteers) and once again the story was fantastic. This year was the best story ever.
I can't believe I was in the swamp, on the water, and being chased by gator and then finding people stlll alive - it was nuts
This is family fear filled fun. Don’t miss it. I love this event!

What a scary surprise! Face the Fear advertised a haunted trail and I can’t describe how scary it really was. There were people, prisoners, and creatures hiding in the swamp and that was just the beginning. By the time our group got to the prison cells we thought it was over, but then the scares were just ramping up. There were crazy people, scary people, and a maze.
The people who were out front at the ticket booth and snack bar were so nice. All of the terrifying people were waiting in the woods to make me scream. My wife said that I scream like a little girl. Last time I saw her she was still in the woods trying to get away from the prisoners there. Perhaps next year I will come and pick her back up. (I’m just kidding of course – she drove, so I had to wait for her to go home) It was a great night, a great time, and great scares – thanks

Whew! Now I know what it is like to be completely surrounded and swallowed up inside a horror movie. TechWood Terror was the best in a scary experience. I can see why they are considered one of the best in Florida. Not only are they the best but they are unique - just not like the other haunted attractions.
They have the great actors, the scary maze, the dazzling effects, and the jump scares but they also have heart. That sounds weird, but there is a passion to what this haunt is all about. I'm not sure what it is but I think it has a lot of soul. Don't miss this if you get the chance to experience it for yourself

I can't believe that I had this much fun at a haunted house, or woods, or ride, or whatever it was! I was in the woods, I was out of the woods, I was in a lab, I was in a maze, I was on a hayride, I was in a swamp. Face the Fear was everything I could have wanted it to be and so much more. And there was this one creature that jumped on the trailer with us, I about wet my pants, I didn't, that would have been bad on the hay.
The AI is on the loose and I was terrified. Great job to the scare team of Face the Fear

Face the Fear is smart, fun, scary, and did I mention FUN?
My family and I loved the AI twist and we got a chance to walk and ride. The way this haunted attraction unfolded was part scare attraction, part show, and then more scares. Perfect storytelling that takes the entire haunted house industry and turns it on it's backside by offering a new a better way to do things. Keep up the great great great work. Can't wait to see what you do next.

We look forward to this haunted house every year! The church does a great job at putting this on and puts a lot of work into making it a personalized, scary experience! The mazes are so much fun and hard! Super underrated and the staff are very kind and put a lot of effort into making it a great experience!

Welcome to TechWood a new form of Halloween experiences. I was not sure what to expect when I went to Face the Fear. It was not slammed with thousands of people, instead it was a very friendly, not weird, nice environment. They even had good hotdogs for sale. Don't let those friendly people in the front fool you. They put the scary people out in the woods and they are waiting for you.
The trails were great, very rustic, and very scary. The creatures were startling. Along the way you got a chance to experience what might best be described as mini-shows that unpacked an incredible story. It was imaginative, a lot of hard work went into it. and to be honest it was a lot smarter than the run of the mill usual haunted attractions. That may be what sets this one apart and makes it a bit better than the rest.
There was some high tech tricks, some low tech treats, and some walking, riding, creepy moments that I will remember for a long time. We screamed and smiled and it was a perfect night and perfect event. I highly recommend it if you are looking for something that is a cut above the rest of the stuff out there. All of that stuff is fun. This is the filet mignon of horror attractions. (I also love the extra take home giveaways. Great candy corn story, fun film, and good stuff to use when you are afraid.

How do you mix a futuristic AI theme, with a haunted attraction theme, with a walk through not one but two different sets of woods? The answer is Techwood Terror Face the Fear.
My family loved it. We laughed, a lot of oohs and ahhs, and of course some startling screams. The best part is that the Face the Fear group is always telling a story and not just trying to blood and gore us into numbness.
This is the way a scary Halloween attraction should be. Smart, scary, and saavy. Kuddos to Face the Fear for creating another can't miss, must visit Halloween attraction. We plan on going back again next weekend.
