Hotel Blanche
Lake City, FL 32055
This hotel has seen the likes of gangster Al Capone and it is rumored to be haunted by a variety of paranormal happenings. Today, the building houses some businesses on the ground floor and office space on the second, but the third floor is empty. Except for the ghosts that linger there! Witnesses have reported disembodied footsteps and voices, sounds of children playing, and doors that operate on their own.

Ive always heard stories about this place growing up.My mom said she heard that someone seen an old newspaper appear.A friend of mine use to watch the fireworks on the old fire escape ladder onto someplace to sit and heard running inside and kids(Before they remodeled it).I have a family member that did construction and started when they were doing the second floor. He was there for awhile and had several experiences. When they were starting to redo the third floor he said most of the doors had old locks on them. When they opened them it was like it was back in the day rabbit antennas and everything. He said they just threw everything away.Alot of antiques. He seen a man in a top hat and shades and actually has a picture of him.He was takeing pictures from the right wing out a window faceing the left wing and it is in a window, but is a faint picture. He also said in the basement there is still one of the old big steel street lights or something that they moved into the basement and that someone told him that it had fallen on someone way back and they put it in the basement. These are stories I have heard ,but i beleive and feel there are still spirits there.

I recently relocated to the area. I often go downtown and this building is there. This building is huge, it takes up an entire block of downtown. There are stores on the first floor. Typical creepy feeling and cold spots are noted in several of the stores. The wood floors creek and there is a feeling that someone or something is watching you. Last year around the holidays I was there at night. From the street I could see into the third and second floor windows. We saw shadows moving in the shape of a human. Several times while driving in the area I have also looked up and seen faces looking out the windows in Victorian era clothes. There is no access to the second or third floors that I am aware of by the public and I do not think the owners would parade around in Victorian era clothes either. I wish we could get inside upstairs, it would be cool to complete a paranormal investigation. I am sure with all the history there we could get some EVP's without much effort.
